RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HOMEOWNER
Building a new home is an exciting process, and we are happy to assist in any way possible. However, there will be a few responsibilities you as a homeowner will need to take care of.
Responsibilities of the Homeowner Includes:
- Obtain any necessary financing. Most of our customers obtain a construction loan through a lender of their choice. All financing costs are the responsibility of the homeowner.
- Provide clear access from the public right of way to the final home location. We will make a trip to your land, prior to the signing of contract, to inspect the location for accessibility.
- Have your land cleared and a pad built 10’ larger than the home on all four sides. Each corner of the pad needs to be within 2’’ of level. The soil condition of the land and any testing is the obligation of the homeowner.
- Have water & sewer lines brought up to within 10’ of home for us to make final connections.
- Contact your City offices, if applicable, to obtain building permits, coordinate city services, or any other service required by municipality.
- Contact your electric provider to establish electric service to the new home. We will set the home up for overhead or underground service. We will not make any final electrical connections to new home unless otherwise specified in contract.
- Contact your insurance company to make sure your insurance is in effect prior to moving any items into the home.
